When China Called: Xi'an Day Yi Part 6

Somewhere at one of the corners of the Muslim Street is a most opportune moment to go up Xi'an Drum Tower. Fairly quickly you can realize why it holds monopoly over that name. At the tower, there is a drum for every occasion. And if you’re lucky, you may have a chance to view a Chinese musical performance on the same level as the ceremonial drums, the first level of the tower. At the top level, there was a small exhibit of ancient Chinese furniture, quite a pleasant little showroom.

From the
platform at the top of the tower you can view the Muslim quarters off to one side and the city’s monumental Bell Tower from the other.
Once we concluded our visit to the tower, we proceeded to complete the circle of the Muslim Street. From here forward, the street is a culinary attraction. The most popular of which, I’m told, is a stall that sells Chinese Hamburgers. The long line of locals waiting to grab their share, is a sure tell, this stall is a gold mine. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I might never find out.
